Well here's a piece of very exciting news that makes everything around us seem a little brighter and warmer:

On March 23 our third album, Two Thousand and Ten Injuries, will be released by Polyvinyl. We are very excited and proud and can't wait for you all to hear it in its entirety. Right now we're in Rotterdam in Holland. Tonight we're playing our last show of our european tour. It's been fantastic and only one car broke down! (it's not over yet though...) It did get towed once though after we parked it in the middle of a road overnight...

But due to the van breaking down we did have to cancel our first show ever and we're extremely sorry about that!

hello everyone, a while back we had some time to kill so we decided to do something different; namely record a bunch of covers of some of our favourite swedish classics. songs by tant strul, bob hund, di leva, philemon arthur and the dung and magnus uggla.

just like we did for our first cover ep we decided that each member would pick a song with no other member getting a say in the matter. we recorded them all in a hurry at our space, just to avoid things getting too complicated...

we've screen printed 200 sleeves here in my kitchen and will include a small fanzine in the little cdr package we will bring to our upcoming shows in europe. but, since a lot of you don't live anywhere near those venues we decided to give the songs away as well. so, HERE you go. feel free to spread and share as you wish. we really hope you like them.

also, we will be back for a few shows in the usa this summer, if all goes well. we are currently trying to decide on which great american classics might receive the love is all mistreatment. please feel free to write us with suggestions.

i woke up way too early today, sort of like you would being a kid and knowing that you were waking up to your your birthday. well, today is the day our second record is finally out and i feel sort of excited in that same birthday way.
soon i'm going to run to amoeba here in san francisco to see if the record really exists. finally hold a copy. possibly buy one.

i've done some google-ing and found a whole bunch of nice words about the album. had i known it would be this smooth it might not have taken us three years to make a sequel...

hello everyone,

this is not being updated nearly as often as intended.
but, well... it's sunday afternoon here in sunny and cold gothenburg. i've just finished screen printing some new tote bags for our next tours. some of us are leaving for san francisco on tuesday already. there are at least two good reasons for why we want to get over there so early:
1. our friends from cause co-motion and crystal stilts are playing tuesday night at bottom of the hill and we want to be there.
2. also, we have a feeling tuesday could be the best party of the year if everything goes well in the election.
...and then of course we are really looking forward to spending some time in san francisco again. it's been much too long since we hung out with our friends over there.

it's now only just over a week until our new record is out. pretty exciting.
and the two weeks we've spent at home since our last tour have been spent recording and mixing five new tracks that should be out early next year. one song is about the danger of early mornings, another about all that van trouble we had on our last european tour.

actually i have to go now, need to approve the final changes to the mixes of those mentioned songs.

European cars hate love is all!

Hi, just a quick update to tell you about our horribly unlucky (but still pretty damn fantastic!) european tour.

Right now we're in Milano in Italy. A couple of minutes ago our rental van broke down right outside the venue so we had to push it into a parking space.

That is our SECOND rental van. We had to rent a new one in Münster, Germany after that one had broken down. And we had to push that van up to enough speed so it would jump over a curb! Wyatt had the time of his life flying that van.

So, the next day we got a new van. And drove to Switzerland. The morning after our second show there in Aarau the new van refused to start. So once again we had to push it to get it going.

In Zürich we finally got the car fixed. Happy and ready for some italian sun we reached Ravenna and had some amazing food and good times. Played on a beach and partied like it was 199999.

And here we are in Milano with car trouble again! Last show of the tour at the awesome venue Rocket.
And once again we're gonna have to speak with the rental company and probably a non-english (or pretty much any other language) -speaking mechanic.

We'll tell you more when (or if) we get home. Show you some pictures and let you in on all the details!

Hi everybody, this is Ake (that new saxamaphone player) again. I just feel like writing something here since it's been a while since the last post.

Thought I'd start with a brief update. We came back from the states a couple of weeks ago, we had such an amazing time and we'd like to thank everybody who made it so awesome!

So ok, the visa thing worked out, so we're set and ready to go west!
I get there on friday, ready to get in a cab as soon as possible to go to the knitting factory where I'll be doing a solo show opening for the incomparable Gary Wilson.

so yesterday we all got up at 3.30 am to drive to the american embassy in stockholm in order to get our visas. that meant three hours of sleep. the interviews went fine and our visas will most definitely be approved. but maybe not in time. there's some new system that is delaying everything. markus, who was supposed to leave on tuesday will probably have to reschedule his flight. i'm concerned about mine too, leaving dead early on thursday. i'm so nervous my stomach is turning.
oh, well, fingers crossed everything will work out. the people at the embassy are really helpful and have promised to keep us updated.

i was really supposed to write and let you know that we have another show booked in new york. it's at bowery ballroom. i have never been there, but it sounds huge to me. the tickets are apparently pretty pricey, but we promise to try and make ut up to you. we'll play some extra songs if you want to hear extra songs... and we will sell our merch a little cheaper in case you want to buy some souvenirs. please let us know if there are any special songs you want to hear and we will try to find time to rehearse them.

we played a small show for an all sitting crowd at hagateatern here in gothenburg last saturday. playing to a sitting audience usually scares the hell out of me, but this was a ton of fun. åke put his old video camera at the very back of the room and filmed the whole thing. the result looks a lot like what i guess love is all live at your school in 1985 would have looked like.

oh, and yeah, give it back will be on the new record.

when we were in oslo we did this handheld shows thing at the trikk-stop near by the venue. it's the first ever "unplugged" song love is all has agreed on doing, since we are kind of depending on reverb and loud drumming to make it sound like us. it's a little strange to hear a song that's normally really loud and messy stripped down like this...
but fun nevertheless.

i knew it. i knew we'd be really bad at being frequent with this updating business. it can partly be blamed on us just having had a bit of vacation from all band stuff and from each other. markus went to spain. johan back to his home turf in småland. me, i've been sick with cold all week and haven't really left the house. i have been working tons on the new sleeve though. not sure i'm loving what's been done yet. it's in black and orange, which isn't really my favourite colour combo, but i guess it reminds me of sf giants so it's okay anyways...
next week we're going to oslo to play the novafest. we are very excited about finally playing some shows again. but (maybe more exciting) before oslo i'm going to stockholm to see kelly clarkson play, our friend chris deaner plays drums with her. chris is also in a fantastic drum duo called loudest boom bah yeh, check them out here.

yes. we're playing the loud & quiet/dirty bingo party at hoxton square bar in london on may 21st. it's us and theoretical girls and esser and it's going to be a great night. we've been promised cocktails in celebration of åke's birthday. and my best friend sara lives just nearby. and there is vietnamese food not too far away.

we're playing at the button factory in dublin on saturday... i think we'll try out a lot of new songs, don't miss it!

thing is that we're flying in on friday afternoon, and since this will be our first time ever in ireland, we're not quite sure how to spend our friday night... anybody have any recommendations?

this is what markus looked like most of last night. and the reason for his shame is pretty hilarious:
for the past two months or so he's been working for the swedish national radio P1 at a program called 'mitt i musiken' (which roughly translates to "in the middle of the music" or maybe "what's mine in music".) It's a serious show. yesterday markus had a thing on there about how the new york philharmonic orchestra is going to north korea, which is, needless to say, a big deal. somewhere in this story markus mentioned kim jong-il, only it was typed out properly (Kim Jong-Il), and markus being a little unfocused read out his name Kim Jong the second. It took no more than five minutes for the first email to arrive. and before the day was over plenty more had arrived. there is no doubt this will be the kind of blooper that the staff at P1 will send each other for a moment of hilariousness. kind of like the woman who puked on that game show.
in a pale attempt at comforting markus i told him about the time i heard someone on his show refer to it as "pitt i musiken", which means "dick in the music". not sure it helped.

we're back g-town. i'm too tired to write anything interesting. we had a great time in stockholm including striptease, sightseeing and meeting friends. playing was a lot of fun. i'll tell you more about it and upload those pictures i promised, but not tonight.
